In the Summer of 2023, LT Design Studio was tasked with designing this residential garden on an infill lot just off of Riverside Drive in East Nashville. The clients wanted to create a lush garden that included a variety of outdoor rooms, and spaces for entertaining. Several large existing trees helped to frame the space and provide needed shade from the afternoon sun. A formal lawn is anchored with a large dining terrace on one end, and an intimate fire pit area with great sunset views on the other. Three raised beds were included to provide an easily accessible space for vegetable gardening. Large evergreens and specimen ornamental trees were used to provide privacy in select areas, but allow the space to be open and welcoming to passing neighbors. Numerous perennial beds provide space for seasonal color and texture, while allowing the owners to curate their personal plant collection over time.
