This project was undertaken in the Spring of 2023 to design an accessible community garden for a multi-family development in North Nashville. The owner indicated that the residents of the community, most of whom are elderly, had expressed a strong desire for a space to grow their own vegetables. Our work involved developing conceptual designs for the garden, with a focus on simple materials and the ability to expand the garden over time. A series of raised garden beds, and moveable stock tank planters were proposed, along with patches of pollinator gardens to add color, and attract beneficial insects.
